Established in 1970 by the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, New Hope Manor is an independent, nonprofit residential substance abuse treatment community for chemically dependant women. It offers individualized treatment planning, creative arts therapy and pediatric care services for adolescents and women above the age of 14. New Hope Manor provides on-site psychiatric evaluation, medication management and patient education services, as well as individual, group and family counseling sessions. It also offers high school diplomas through local school districts and on-site college courses under the accreditation of Marist College. Located in Barryville, N.Y., the center conducts classes on topics related to pregnancy, career counseling, parenting, and prenatal and postnatal care. It is licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services and receives funding from various federal, state, county and local sources.
