Dr. Hayashi graduated from Princeton with honors. She spent a year in Japan teaching for Princeton in Asia. Then she came to NYC and completed her medical degree at Cornell University Medical College at the top of her class. Her residency training was at New York Presbyterian Hospital Cornell. She served as Chief Resident in charge of ophthalmic surgery. She was awarded the Distinguished Housestaff Officer award two years in a row by New York Presbyterian Hospital. She specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology including cataract, glaucoma, dry eyes, stye and chalazion, diabetic and hypertensive eye care, pterygium, pinguecula, and other growths of the eye, macular degeneration, anti-aging and preventative care, chronic red eye, and more. She does community service and is on the Board of Directors for the Japanese Medical Society of America and is the Treasurer. She lectures and teaches at New York Presbyterian Cornell and performs surgeries at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
