Company HistoryMTM Publishing began producing non-fiction and reference books for the library and trade market in 1992. Originally the publishing division of The Moschovitis Group, MTM spun off as a separate company in 2003.Since our beginnings, we quickly established a reputation in the library reference market, beginning with ABC-CLIO, Facts On File, Greenwood, Macmillan, and Oxford University Press. One of our first crtical successes was History of the Internet: A Chronology, 1843 to the Present ( ABC-CLIO, 1999 ), which London's Daily Telegraph described as a "monumental piece of research."By the early 2000s, MTM began producing multi-contributor encyclopedias, developing a proprietary web-enabled system to manage the complex tasks associated with large reference works. Our reputation as one of the few book producers with this expertise became well-known, and publishers such as CQ Press, Facts On File, Routledge, and Sage Publications have come to rely on our experience as encyclopedists to expand their offerings in history, political and social science, science and technology, and other subjects. Among the landmark reference works we've produced are The Atlas of U.S. and Canadian Environmental History, lauded in the September 2003 issue of Library Journal as "a unique resource" for its "clear and accessible language with superb illustrative material, " and the four-volume Encyclopedia of Globalization, the first comprehensive reference work on the subject and recognized on Booklist's Editors' Choice/Best Reference Sources list of 2007.
