The Bronx Academy of Letters is an urban assembly school that was founded in 2003. Located in Bronx, N.Y., the school serves students in grades six through 12. Its academic curriculum includes humanities, math, science, literary texts, writing genres and portfolios. The Bronx Academy of Letters offers writing courses in four segments, including reading, studying and experimenting with different writing genres to students. Its first segment of the course focuses on fiction, nonfiction, journalism and debate. The Bronx Academy of Letters students has to complete a profile each year that includes published work from the school's literary journal and newspaper and a written reflection generated by the student on his or her progress in school.
