Founded in 1922, Metropolis Country Club provides a variety of activities, including pool, bowling, billiards and gymnastics. The club has more than 700 male members. Its facilities include a swimming pool, pro shop, restaurant, roof garden, tennis courts, and locker and cards rooms. Metropolis Country Club administers a charity program that entertains children at its clubhouse and at various orphanages and hospitals. It operates an 18-hole golf course that features several uneven lies and doglegs. The club organizes various social events, such as formal wine dinners and Sunday night family barbecues.
