Based in New York City, MTA Metro-North Railroad provides more than 250,000 customer trips each weekday and over 73 million trips annually. A subsidiary of New York State's Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Metro-North Railroad was founded in 1983. It operates on more than 380 route miles and over 770 miles of track and offers discount ticket packages. The railroad serves more than 120 stations in over five counties, including Dutchess, Putnam, Westchester, Bronx, New York, Rockland and Orange, N.Y., and New Haven and Fairfield, Conn.
