Ashish Saxena, M.D., Ph.d
Dr. Saxena is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and Assistant Attending Physician at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He graduated from the Medical Scientist Training Program at Stony Brook University, receivinghis MD and a PhD in Genetics. Following this he completedhis residency in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center and fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Weill Cornell Medical College-New York-Presbyterian Hospital. After fellowship Dr. Saxena worked as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Sloan Kettering Institute of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center where his research focused on the study of exosomes. He returned to Weill Cornell Medical College in 2015 to join the facultyof the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology in their Thoracic Oncology program.Dr. Saxena's clinical and research interests have beenin the study and management of different forms of lung cancer. He currentlytreats patients with non-small cell andsmall-cell lung cancers, mesothelioma, thymoma, and sarcomas of the lung. He is involved in both clinical and laboratory research, collaborating with physicians and scientists at Weill Cornell as well asother institutions.
