Make Music New York is a not-for-profit organization that celebrates the musician in all of us, connecting New Yorkers to their communities and with each other through music. They produce two annual citywide celebrations, Make Music New York and Make Music Winter, where music makers of all ages and backgrounds are empowered to take center stage and share their skills and passions through live performances in public spaces across all five boroughs.
Make Music New York is a unique festival of free concerts that takes place annually on June 21st, the first day of summer and longest day of the year. It is open to anyone who wants to take part, with thousands of musicians pouring onto streets, sidewalks, parks, and plazas to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. With over 1,000 concerts each year, Make Music New York also partners with fellow NYC presenters and cultural institutions to bring music to diverse audiences and locations throughout the city.
