History
The church was organized on Nov. 2, 1865 under the leadership of two traveling missionaries. 48 people were in attendance. The congregation was named in honor of Gustavus II Adolphus, kind of Sweden from 1611-1632. He was a devout protestant and a foresighted leader who developed Sweden's educational system and economic resources. Today, the congregation is in a period of renewal and growth. With well-executed liturgy and an emerging ministry for young professionals, under the leadership of Rev. Christopher Mietlowski, Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church has experienced steady growth over its most recent years.
