History
Lucky Cheng's opened in 1993 as the first cabaret where all the staff were Asian Drag Queens and transgendered women. It was catapulted into the spotlight in 1994 when Prince Albert of Monaco came in for a drag dining experience and liked it so much that he asked for 2 Queens for his table. Suddenly, Lucky Cheng's became an overnight sensation attracting celebrities, musicians, and artists through the years such as Joan Rivers, Luther Vandross, Britney Spears, Madonna, Mick Jagger, Kelly Ripa, Leonardo DiCaprio, RuPaul, Lady Gaga, and many more. Even after 27 years, Lucky Cheng's remains a staple for those wanting to celebrate a special event, entertaining out of town guests, celebrating a bachelorette /bachelor, birthday party, or Girls Night Out! Lucky Cheng's alumni that have gone on to become celebrities themselves: Laverne Cox (Orange Is The New Black, Doubt), Jamie Clayton (sense8), Ongina, Thorgy Thor, Acid Betty, Bob the Drag Queen, and Yuhua Hamasaki (RuPaul's Drag Race)
