History
The New York Psychotherapy Group was founded in 1976 by a small group of independent therapists dedicated to providing high quality psychotherapy at moderate cost. Our aim was to design a system of consultation and referral that would effectively match clients with qualified, caring therapists. Over the years the New York Psychotherapy Group has grown to include over 35 therapists. They have varying styles and treatment approaches, but all are committed to resolving problems and helping people lead more productive, rewarding lives. Today, the New York Psychotherapy Group is a referral source for individuals and large institutions, like hospitals, unions, social service agencies and university counseling centers. Many of our therapists are providers for HMOs, managed care networks and private insurers. The New York Psychotherapy Group continues to be guided by an approach that values the individual.
