Published on September 1, 1871, The Long Island Advance was previously known as The Advance. Located in Patchogue, N.Y., it is the one of the oldest operating newspaper in Brookhaven Town. The newspaper is also one of the longest continually operated businesses in the Village of Patchogue. The Long Island Advance features articles in various categories, such as local sports, obituaries, real estate, classifieds and public notices, to name a few. In addition, the newspaper undertakes advertising.
