History
I was always taught if I did well in school, I'd get into a good college. If I did well in college, that would lead to a good job. And that was it - the end. Personal finance was nowhere in that equation. What I didn't realize at the time, but know now, is getting a good job and being well-compensated is just part of the equation. Perhaps the most important component though is what you do with the money that determines whether you'll live a comfortable life in your working and retirement years. Through that realization, I decided to learn everything I could about personal finance and apply the strategies and optimizations that I learned to my own situation and for those around me. My passion for personal finance and helping others led me to become a financial planner.
