Dr. Laura Sahyoun is an assistant professor of medicine at the Jill Roberts Center for IBD at Weill Cornell Medicine, specializing in the care of patients with inflammatory bowel diseases. She completed her medical school, internal medicine residency, and chief residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School followed by gastroenterology fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital, where she was chief fellow. She completed a subspecialty training year in inflammatory bowel disease at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medicine. Her research interests include healthcare inequities and socioeconomic determinants of health, and utilization of intestinal ultrasound in guiding treatment management for Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). Dr. Sahyoun is committed to providing high quality patient care, is active in clinical trials, and contributes to multicenter collaborative research efforts to advance knowledge and treatment of IBD. She is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
