Founded in 1933 at the suggestion of Albert Einstein, the International Rescue Committee provides relief, rehabilitation, protection, post-conflict development and resettlement services to people in countries that have been affected by violent conflict and oppression. The organization delivers lifesaving aid in emergencies, rebuilds communities, cares for war-traumatized children, rehabilitates health care and water sanitation systems, reunites separated families, establishes schools and trains teachers.
