The Korean American Family Service Center (KAFSC) was founded in 1989 as the first anti-domestic violence organization dedicated to serving the Korean American community in the New York tri-state area. Starting as an all-volunteer group, KAFSC has grown to provide a full array of holistic services for children, youth, and adults.
KAFSC's staff, all of whom are bilingual and bicultural, personally understand immigrant family struggles and can respond to clients with innate sensitivity. From small beginnings in a church basement, KAFSC now offers counseling, case management, legal and social services, advocacy, economic empowerment programs, housing assistance, community outreach, and education.
