For more than 40 years, Kopp has helped hundreds of companies improve their bottom line through sound management of billing and collections. In fact, Kopp collected more than $40 million for clients in 2004 alone. We combine personal service, industry experience and state-of-the-art resources to meet the needs of your organization. Our full suite of services can free you from the increasing cost and burdensome paperwork of today's medical billing; we can take over all of your billing and collection responsibilities or just work on special, short-term projects and assignments. Our staff is diverse, experienced and truly our biggest asset. Our six supervisors have more than 140 combined years of billing and collections experience at Kopp. Almost half of our staff members have been with Kopp for five years or longer. Kopp's billing representatives are trained in best practices to resolve claim inquiries quickly and accurately. To keep our staff up to date on current issues that affect our clients, we provide HIPAA training and compliance programs. Our clients clearly benefit from the breadth of our staff's experience, their longevity of service and the quality of their work. In 1963, Fran O'Connor purchased Kopp Collection Service, Inc, a Syracuse, New York-based collection agency, which he quickly focused almost exclusively on medical collections. In 1968, he formed Kopp Billing Agency, Inc, in response to a growing number of requests from his collection clients. In 1996, Fran's sons John and Patrick O'Connor, both practicing attorneys, joined the Kopp team. Today they serve as the company's principals and, along with the entire staff, continue to provide quality billing and accounts receivable services to the health care community. Patrick's experience in coding, corporate compliance, law and health care management brings value to every client. He is a Certified Professional Coder and a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Patrick also serves on the board of trustee of the Iroquois Nursing Home, Gingerbread House Daycare and Preschool, and St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center Foundation. Patrick graduated from Villanova University and the Albany Law School of Union University. John has a broad background that includes experience in finance, law and health care management. He maintains a number of professional affiliations and is currently on the board of the local chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, a trade association for financial management professionals in the health care field. John is equally committed to his community. He serves on the board of trustees of Manlius Public Library, Christian Brothers Academy and St. Francis Adult Day Care; is a member of the Professional Advisory Committee at St. Joseph Hospital Health Center, Certified Home Health Care Agency; and has coached numerous youth basketball and baseball teams. John is a graduate of Georgetown University and Duke University School of Law.
