Established in 1981, Kodomono Kuni is a nonprofit, state-chartered educational organization that provides early childhood learning for children aged 3 to 6 years old, exposing them to the Japanese language, curriculum and culture. In addition, English is taught as a second language, and students also explore and experience American culture and traditions. Since 1995, the school has occupied its own space inside the school building behind Congregation Kol Ami. While it operates discreetly from the temple's school, the two programs share common areas and participate in cross-cultural holiday celebrations at least twice a year. School is in session from September through June.
