Mishkon is a 50-plus-bed, intermediate care facility that provides residential, medical, educational and therapeutic care services. It serves individuals with various mental and developmental disabilities. The agency offers support services for patients between the ages of 9 and 55. Mishkon is operated by the Jewish Board of Family and Children s Services, which is one of the largest, nonprofit mental health and social service organizations in the United States. Operational for more than 100 years, it annually serves over 65,000 people in New York. The organization manages nearly 185 community-based programs, residential facilities and day treatment centers. The Jewish Board of Family and Children s Services provides internship programs in social work and psychology for students.
