Dr. Andrew Nightingale is a board-certified, comprehensive ophthalmologist who practices on the Upper Westside of Manhattan in New York City. He has a particular interest in cataract, refractive and anterior segment surgeries. He received his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Columbia University. He earned his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. He performed his medical internship year at Cedars-Sinai/UCLA Hospitals in Los Angeles. Dr. Nightingale's ophthalmology residency training was performed at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. He received the honor as being elected a chief resident in his final year, to help administrate this large residency program. Dr. Nightingale was among the earliest residents nationwide to be trained and proficient on femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery.Dr. Nightingale is currently very active in teaching advanced cataract surgical techniques to the residents at NY Eye & Ear. In addition to his surgical teaching duties at NY Eye & Ear, he is also on staff at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Mt. Sinai-West and Mt. Sinai-St. Luke's. Dr. Nightingale performs hundreds of cataract and anterior segment surgeries every year at NY Eye & Ear. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He maintains membership to the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
