Jake's Fitness began in June 2011 when a close friend and workout partner convinced me to offer my services to others. He pointed out that my love of fitness, dedication to form, and appreciation for proper biomechanics would make me a great trainer and fitness coach. I was skeptical, but then I acquiesced; I took a client, and never looked back. I love helping people get healthier, feel better, and look better. After completing a B.S. in exercise science (from Brooklyn College school of Kinesiology), I will be starting a masters program this fall at NYU for biomechanics. To augment my own knowledge I consult regularly with biomechanists and physical therapists to help clients get over any hurdle.
Specialties
We offer one-on-one personalized training tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and fitness level. We focus strongly on form, muscular balance, and posture. We will be employing techniques and exercises influenced by Hatha Yoga, powerlifting, and high intensity interval training protocols, as well as more traditional bodybuilding and endurance exercises. Whether your goal is to pack on lean muscle, shred fat, or maintain healthy body-composition as you get older (or a combination of the above), I'm sure we can design and implement a program to get you to where you want to be.
