Fulton Transit Center is a bustling transportation hub located in Lower Manhattan, New York City. After a major reconstruction, it opened in November 2014, integrating five subway stations serving nine lines. With its well-lit mezzanines and visible sightlines, the center provides easy transfers between lines, reducing overcrowding and improving accessibility for up to 300,000 daily customers.
The architectural centerpiece of Fulton Transit Center is the Sky Reflector-Net, which allows ambient daylight into the station through prismatic glass blades suspended at the top of the dome. This environmentally friendly design earned the center an LEED silver certification in 2016. Additionally, the adjacent Corbin Building, a historic structure, underwent renovation as part of the project, restoring its exterior façade to its original grandeur with over 350 uniquely molded terra cotta pieces.
