Hyesoo Lowe, MD is a board-certified Endocrinologist at Columbia University, and the Medical Director of the Columbia Thyroid Center. Dr. Lowe has a special interest in thyroid disorders including thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, hyper and hypothyroidism, and thyroid illnesses in pregnancy. She has advanced training in thyroid ultrasound and fine needle aspiration biopsy and co-directs the Thyroid Biopsy Program, overseeing the Endocrine Thyroid Biopsy Fast Track. Dr. Lowe received her medical degree from the Weill Cornell Medical College, followed by residency in Internal Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital, then completed her fellowship in Endocrinology at Columbia University Medical Center. She is actively involved in medical student education at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, and is also on the teaching faculty of the Endocrinology Fellowship program at Columbia, where she is the course director for the Thyroid Ultrasound and Biopsy Course. Her clinical practice is devoted to the care of thyroid conditions and she closely collaborates with her colleagues in Endocrine Surgery, Reproductive Endocrinology, Pathology, and Nuclear Medicine at Columbia. Dr. Lowe is committed to providing individualized patient-centered care and she has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor, listed in Castle Connollys Exceptional Women in Medicine, and featured among New York Magazine’s Top Doctors as well as NY Times Super Doctors.
