Huther-Doyle is a nonprofit agency that provides addiction rehabilitation programs and services to individuals and their supporters in the greater Rochester, N.Y., area. Huther-Doyle serves more than 2,000 individuals and family members annually from its three sites in Rochster. Many clients are low income and lack health insurance coverage. More than 60 percent are African-American or Hispanic. Its services include evaluation and referral, intensive outpatient therapy, education and prevention, aftercare, bilingual treatment, HIV treatment, family therapy, MICA treatment and co-dependency treatment. Huther-Doyle is certified by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. The organization was founded in 1977 by Rochester businessman George Huther Jr., a recovering alcoholic.
