Horse Haven is an English tack shop and equestrian boutique filled with everything from fly spray to fine china. In the many years it has been in business, Horse Haven has gone through quite a few changes, not the least of which is its recent move to 36 Hampton Rd in Southampton Village (right next door to the Blue Duck Bakery). The store is owned and operated by Becky Gaynor and Carol and Brian Balodis, all of whom lend their unique expertise to what has become much more than a your typical Tack Shop. The three together have created a boutique that carries not only a full range of tack and riding apparel, but also antiques, fashion sportswear and outerwear, toys, handbags, scarves, tabletop and jewelry. Becky, who has lived in Southampton since childhood and spent her youth riding on the East End, is the shop’s resident equestrian expert and store manager, sharing her knowledge and love of horses and riders with anyone who stops by. Brian oversees all of the merchandising and display when he’s not in New York running his interior design business with wife Carol, who in a prior life was a retail executive in Manhattan. Horse Haven’s employees include many young local riders who are friendly and knowledgeable. Together, the staff of Horse Haven strives to create a warm and friendly environment where you don’t have to be a rider to enjoy the view.
