Hommocks Middle School is part of the Mamaroneck Union Free School District, which covers an area of over eight square miles and includes the entire Village of Larchmont, the unincorporated area of the Town of Mamaroneck and most of the Village of Mamaroneck, excluding Rye Neck. Its diverse student body represents over eighty nations, first generation or later.
The school offers a wide range of programs, such as the "Science Pentathlon," a performance music program, conservation projects, numerous after school clubs, accelerated math and earth science courses, and the Hommocks Writer literary magazine and Tiger Times.
Students also participate in numerous fund-raising activities for local, national and international causes. About one third of the student body is involved in the Service Club, donating their time to places such as the Children's Corner and Sarah Neuman Nursing Home.
Other after-school activities include Student Council, the Hommocks Players and a wide range of intramurals. Some of the sports offered by the school are football, track, swimming, basketball, softball, baseball, soccer, field hockey, volleyball, wrestling and lacrosse.
