Founded in 1986, HELP USA is one of the largest nonprofit builders, developers and operators of transitional and supportive housing with comprehensive on-site human services for homeless individuals in the United States. The organization has helped over 150,000 clients regain their lives since its beginning. HELP USA serves more than 10,000 homeless and low-income individuals each year at over 20 residential programs in nearly 10 communities throughout the U.S. It offers substance abuse and domestic violence treatment, community development, affordable housing and job training services. HELP USA also provides on-site support services for specialized population suffering with domestic violence at each of its nine homeless shelters in the metropolitan New York area. In addition, the organization manages a domestic violence community hotline in Brooklyn with services in English and Spanish, and offers specialized group counseling and employment services for families making the transition from welfare to work.
