Established in 1928, Harriman Engine Company 1 is a volunteer fire company that serves the village of Harriman and parts of the town of Monroe in the state of New York. It is comprised of firematic and civil divisions. The organization s staff includes captains and lieutenants who handle emergency incidents and leads the firefighters. Its civil division is comprised of a secretary, treasurer, financial executive and trustees who perform the company s operations and provide fire protection services. Harriman Engine Company 1 has medical response vehicles and several engines that have a capacity of more than 1,000 gallons of water. It utilizes various equipment, such as power generators, light towers and water pumps.
