The Harlem School of the Arts, located in the New York City, serves more than 3,000 students and provides professional training programs in dance, music, theater and visual arts. The school serves students of ages 12 to 18 years, and offers technical and performance skills training for postsecondary study and career development. The Harlem School of the Arts was founded in 1964, and has faculty of art professionals that offer classical and jazz music training classes. The school has a dance department that offers courses and practical training in various dances, such as ballet, point, jazz, tap, ethnic and salsa.
