Founded in 1968, Harlem Center for Education is a nonprofit organization that provides free programs and services to students in east Harlem, El Barrio and New York. The organization s talent search high school and re-entry to school component service allows individuals to return to high school. In addition, students participating in its after school program engage in various activities, including workshops, cultural/educational trips, tutoring and instruction programs. Harlem Center for Education receives funding from corporations, foundations and the U.S Department of Education grants.
