HistoryRaga Kids began with a simply a group of young professional musical artists coming together to write kids songs. As members had their own kids, the commitment to teach the next generation about the cultural and musical diversity that exists today. We particular fill the need for exposure to Indian instruments, like Sitar, Tabla, Bansuri and Violin. Starting out with 3month old babies at the beginning our offering, we have grown alongside our own children and now offer classes for up to 5 years old.SpecialtiesLed by Brooklyn based music educators and performers Sameer Gupta (tabla), Trina Basu (violin) and Neel Murgai (sitar), Raga Kids is a unique offering and an incredible way to begin exploring the music of India and America! Raga Kids meets weekly for kids 3 months - 5 years old to listen to Indian Classical instruments like Sitar and Tabla, learn about Indian music, and sing songs in based in ragas and tals. Raga Kids explore folk songs from around the world and the children engage in interactive movement and musical play. Fun for kids of all ages and nationalities.
