Covering the geographic area stretching from the Catskill Mountains in the north to the border of New York City's Bronx borough in the south, Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson serves seven counties in southeastern New York State: Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester.
The council's regional offices, with a combined professional staff of about 100, are located in Middletown, New City, Pleasantville and Poughkeepsie. More than 34,000 girl members served by Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson enjoy a wide array of innovative and flexible program options reflecting the community diversity, cultural institutions and rich historical background found throughout the region. An exciting choice of outdoor program activities is also open to them at the council's seven camp properties.
The council's 15,000 adult volunteers are offered comprehensive opportunities for training, skill building and enrichment courses while expanding their awareness of all that the lower Hudson River Valley has to offer.
Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson has its goal to provide a consistent Girl Scout experience, one that builds courage, confidence and character in girls so that they may make the world a better place.
