GDPC represents children and their parents in Committee on Special Education meetings (CSE or IEP meetings), 504 meetings, impartial (due process) hearings, suspension hearings, manifestation determinations, and on appeal (to the SRO, Federal Court, and Second Circuit). Beyond special education, the firm counsels parents regarding Guardianships, Special or Supplemental Needs Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, and benefits such as Social Security – all in order to establish a lifetime plan for each child. The firm also partners with Personal Injury firms in cases involving injuries to children and young adults, including the abuse and mistreatment (physical, emotional, and/or verbal) of children suffered at the hands of school personnel.
