City of Geneva Recreation Department, founded in 1978, offers community services to the citizens of Geneva, N.Y. It operates a recreation complex, and provides an ice rink for public skating, figure skating club, lessons in figure skating and hockey. The department offers a variety of programs throughout the year for adults and children, such as exercise programs, arts and crafts, sports leagues, trips, annual girls hockey tournament and skating show. It also offers the Farmer's Market that operates from June through mid-October, and offers variety of arts, crafts, paintings and seasonal produce, such as fruits and vegetables. City of Geneva Recreation Department sponsors the annual Halloween parade featuring floats and bands from the local schools, and cosponsors the Applefest Fun Run for children. In addition, its facilities include McDonough Park, and the Lakefront that hosts weekly summer concerts.
