The Franklin Square and Munson Fire Department has been serving the community since 1924, protecting an area of approximately three square miles and a population of around thirty thousand people in Franklin Square, Garden City South, and parts of West Hempstead.
With a rich history dating back to the early 20th century, the department was formed through the merger of the Franklin Hook Ladder Company of Munson and the Franklin Square Hose Chemical Company. Responding to over one thousand fire and medical emergencies annually, the dedicated team of firefighters and EMS personnel are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
