The First Presbyterian Church of Sag Harbor, better known as The Old Whalers Church, was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1994. The congregation was founded in 1766 and the current church was built in 1843 and dedicated in 1844. The steeple was knocked down during the Great Hurricane of 1938 and has yet to be replaced. Sunday school takes place at 9am followed by services at 10am. There is also a half-hour Wednesday service at 7 p.m. The Sag Harbor Community Food Pantry is also located here and "The Old Burying Ground," which dates back to its first interment at 1767, is next door. The current pastor is the Reverend Mark Phillips.
