Family Services of Westchester, also known as FSW, is a private, nonprofit agency that provides a range of social and mental health services for youths, senior citizens and families. Founded in 1954, it offers services for youths in matters related to academic support, skills development, teenage pregnancy, school failure, and substance abuse and violence prevention. The agency provides therapeutic foster care, Early Head Start and AmeriCorps programs. Family Services of Westchester administers the Home Health Care program, which includes one-on-one assistance, personal care, and nutritional and emotional support for individuals with chronic needs. It operates the Jerome Technology Learning Center, which offers computer skills training opportunities for at-risk youths and unemployed adults and senior citizens. The agency has a staff of more than 450 professionals, including psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, child care workers, nurses, peer counselors and early childhood educators. Family Services of Westchester maintains a location in Mount Vernon, N.Y.
