Elmcrest Children's Center, located in Syracuse, N.Y., offers a wide variety of programs and services to at-risk families, neglected children, and children and adolescents with social and emotional disorders. Its various residential and community-based programs meet the behavioral and emotional needs of youth. The agency was founded in 1845, and its programs include group emergency foster care, long-term residential treatment, the hard-to-place program, and a special supervision unit. Elmcrest Children's Center also offers agency-operated boarding homes, nonsecure detention, a family support center, and family transitions, focus on families, early education and other educational programs. Its special supervision unit serves 13-to-15-year-old boys, and provides specialized treatment and enhanced supervision, and support to their families.
