The Eastchester Public Library, which opened in 1947, is a member of the Westchester Library System and is governed by a seven-member board of trustees appointed by the Town Board. The library features fiction, literature, mystery, history, reference books and a large-print book collection, as well as videos, DVDs, CDs, audio books called "play aways," Blu-ray movies and Kobo ebook readers.
There are five computers with Internet access, one for online catalogue access and two that are equipped with Microsoft office.
Eastchester residents with a library card are eligible to receive free passes for Manhattan museums such as the Guggenheim, Children's Museum of Manhattan and the Museum of Natural History.
Tracy Wright is the current library director.
