Located in Binghamton, N.Y., Broome-Tioga BOCES is an educational institution established to help public schools and provides quality programs. It operates as an extension of the local school districts and the New York State Education Department. It was founded in 1954 and works with public schools, area colleges, community agencies and other local partners to enrich lives through education. It employs more than 1,000 people and serves more than 10 school districts in Broome and Tioga counties. Broome-Tioga BOCES also offers community programs to more than 10,000 adult students annually and collaborates with community agencies and local industry to provide specialize programs. Its cooperative partners include IBM, The Kopernik Space Education Center, Waterman Center and United Health Services. Its center for educational support and technology program provides schools with a wide assortment of educational resources, instructional programs, staff development training and computer technology support services.
