The Curtis High School offers courses in arts, English, mathematics, science, social studies and health. It also offers credit courses in languages other than English, physical education, and career and technical education. Football, basketball, tennis, hockey and wrestling are among the sports activities offered by the school. Additionally, the school conducts a variety of educational programs for the overall development of its students. The programs offered include Stay-in-School, licensed practical nurse and the Apollo. The Stay-in-School program is a college preparation core program designed for student with strong interest in the humanities, law and sciences. The program prepares the student to take some of the advanced-placement course offered at the school. The Curtis High school was founded in 1904 and is located in Staten Island, N.Y.
