The Office of the Orange County Executive is administered by the government of Orange County in New York. Established in 1683 as one of the original counties of the Province of New York, Orange County is located between the Hudson and Delaware rivers. The government of Orange County operates through the community development, consumer affairs, community health outreach, emergency services, public works, and parks and recreation departments. The county government provides early intervention, employment, environmental, information and health care services for residents. Its department of social services coordinates a variety of programs and projects for the welfare of citizens.
