The Clarkstown Police Department serves the villages of Upper, Central and West Nyack.
The Clarkstown Police Department protects the life and property of village residents. The department also prevents crime, enforces local, state and federal laws, and anticipates and responds to events that threaten public order and citizens' quality of life.
Peter T. Noonan is chief of police, Robert G. Mahon is patrol captain and Michael R. Sullivan is administrative captain.
In an average month, the department handles more than 2,700 incidents, making approximately 160 arrests and responding to approximately 300 accident calls. The department has 166 officers.
