Established as a small soda water distribution company in 1936, Clare Rose maintains its headquarters in Melville, N.Y. Known at the time as C. Rose Distributing, the company s brands included Mission and Plaza beverages. By 1944, C. Rose Distributing was one of the largest independent soda water distributors in Suffolk County. Three years later, C. Rose Distributing was appointed as the Anheuser-Busch wholesale distributor for eastern Suffolk County. The distribution company has grown from handling the Budweiser brand in 1947, to distributing a large portfolio of products. In 1991, Clare Rose of Nassau became the official Anheuser-Busch wholesaler of Nassau County. In 1993, the company acquired the Staten Island territory, and Clare Rose of Staten Island became the official Anheuser-Busch wholesaler for that borough. In 2001, the Patchogue and Melville locations merged to form one of the largest Anheuser-Busch wholesalers in the nation. Clare Rose employs more than 200 associates.
