Established in 1944, Citizens' Committee for Children of New York is multi-issue child advocacy organization, located in New York City. It offers public education campaigns, and authoritative status reports on New York City children, required reading for city and state policymakers. Citizen s Committee for Children of New York also provides community leadership courses for adults, and its YouthAction NYC program for high school students educates and improves conditions for children. It also provides policy briefings and task forces that offer opportunities to learn more about and act on issues affecting children. The organization also offers public policy development, and monitoring and analysis services that deal with various issues, such as the effects of budgets on New York City children, income supports, health and mental health services, child welfare reform, child care, homelessness, and school reform programs.
