The Children's Annex is a private, nonprofit program for children with special needs, and is located in Kingston, N.Y. It is approved by the New York State Office of Education of Children with Disabling Conditions and the New York State Health Department. It offers academic instruction in language arts and mathematics to children between the ages of 2 and 15. Its school-age program is a social and academic learning program for students between the ages of 5 and 12. It offers an intensive learning program for students between the ages of 3 and 15 that provides communication development, including augmentative systems like sign language and assistive devices and the enhancement of verbal abilities. It offers community-based services, such as special education, speech and language therapies and counseling. The Children's Annex also offers 12-month school program and tuition and transportation services and has been operational since 1976.
