The Center for Forensic Sciences is a part of the Onondaga County Health Department. It provides analytical laboratory services in the field of criminalistics, forensic biology, DNA and forensic toxicology. It provides various laboratory services, including toxicological examinations of blood, urine and tissues for alcohol, drugs and poisons; analysis of crime scene evidences in the disciplines of forensic chemistry, trace evidences, questioned documents, firearms, latent prints and computer evidences; and DNA testing of biological evidences. The county of Onondaga is located in the central New York region and has a population of more than 450,000 residents. The Center for Forensic Sciences is located in Syracuse, N.Y.
