Specialties
My goal is to help you feel less alone and overwhelmed by the challenges life can present. I have over 20 years experience in helping people recognize their strengths and ultimately improve their self-esteem and day to day functioning. I have a general practice (anxiety, depression, mood and adjustment disorders) and I have special interests including parent counseling, working with new mothers and babies, play therapy with children, and have 15 years experience working with eating disorders. I am interested in helping you improve yourself and your relationships in a space that is safe and comfortable. I am experienced in working with children and adolescents and have post graduate training from New Hope Guild Child and Adolescent Therapy Training Program. I also have advanced training in working with eating disorders from the WIlliam Alanson White Institute. I have also ran groups for new mothers and babies over the years. While I use a psychoanalytic psychotherapeutic approach at times I will also utilize cognitive behavioral strategies based on the client's needs. I have a very down to earth style which I believe helps people to feel understood and creates an environment where we are able to do the work we need to do together.
