After Peppino's Pizza closed its doors, West Hempstead residents didn't have to live without their cheesy slices and Italian dishes for long. Pizza Cucina opened up in this location on July 2011. The small Italian restaurant offers traditional staples - pizza, heroes, calzones and Italian dishes like baked ziti, eggplant and chicken parmesan. They have specialty slices and will soon be offering unique options for health-conscious diners and those with food allergies. They plan to sell whole-wheat, gluten-free, vegan, low-sugar, low-carb and organic pizza, pasta and desserts. .There is a beverage cooler near the door if you want to grab a quick soda or other cold drink. Take out is most common, but there are a few tables for customers who would like to dine in.
