History
Growing up in Buffalo, I never thought people would actually want to come and visit. During my childhood, the city lost thousands of jobs and suffered through some harsh economic times. After graduating with a degree in film and video, I moved out to the Pacific Northwest. I worked for a few museums, started a nonprofit, and when the cost of living became too high, I decided it was time to come back home. I was blown away by what I saw. There was a resurgent culture, world-class food, an amazing biking community, and some of the most endearing people anywhere. I quickly became part of a small community of change makers working to pull the city up from its bootstraps. In 2018, I started hosting free history tours - I wrote songs, brought poems to read, shared jokes, and showed people some of my favorite places. Much to my surprise, it worked! More than 250+ people showed up and their enthusiasm inspired me to think about how to grow bigger and better.
